Film Star Robert Redford Has Died at the Age of 89
Celebrated performer Robert Redford, famous for memorable parts in films like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, has passed away at 89.
A statement revealed that the Oscar-winning star passed away on a September day at his home in Sundance, Utah, family.
Redford was also an iconic performer, but the founder of the Sundance Institute.
He received an Oscar for Best Director in 1980 for the drama Ordinary People and shared his departure from acting in 2018.
Over his remarkable career, Redford appeared in acclaimed movies such as Indecent Proposal.
While his role in Butch Cassidy turned him into a star, he admitted reservations with being labeled solely a charmer.
“He shall remain deeply mourned,” the statement added. “Those closest to him requests privacy at this time.”
